This whole fan name thing... Isn't it getting a little stupid?

Ehhh yeah I guess it's kind of stupid but it's just cause people want to feel a sense of belonging. I mean, is it really any different than people who call themselves Metalheads, or ska kids, or whatever? Keep in mind, I'm not saying it's bad that people do that. It's just natural that people are going to want to feel that feeling of fitting in and to be honest, most of us do it in some way or another.
